![]() The Movie Soundtrack is the modern classical genre. I've already heard various pieces of the soundtrack used in adverts and I can understand why - it's simply amazing music.įor the price their asking it's almost being given away so don't be shy! 10/10 the list goes on but I have to say I like how the guys have come up with a hook and really explore it musically. Around the World was just the same vamp over and over to almost hypnotic but stunning effect (and with that video it's just even better.), Aerodynamic with it's guitar arpeggio's.Robot Rock. I can't deny there is repetition here but that's what Daft Punk do. I've seen in other reviews that the repetitiveness of the music has put some people off a little. I find it rare these days to be as conscious of the music in films, to me this soundtrack was an equal to what I was seeing onscreen but the combined effect of the amazing visuals and sound add up to something far more than the sum of their parts. ![]() If a sountrack can ever be said to be 'good' based on how well it fits with the visuals then this soundtrack is surely one of the best. Listening to the soundtrack in isolation I find my mind filled with imagery from the film - no bad thing as both the music and visuals from the film are things of complete beauty. The pallete Daft Punk have drawn from is wonderfully varied and most tracks have a beautifully realised electronic motif interwoven with more traditional orchestral arrangement to stunning effect. Of course the original Tron is rooted way back in 1982 and Daft Punk's retro vibes do tip their hat to that very different era whilst delivering something completely modern at the same time - not an easy task but it's done with a very sure hand here. When you think about it Daft Punk were an obvious choice for this soundtrack, not in a lazy 'oh yeah, they do electronic sounding music' kind of way but in the way their music has such texture and feels simultaneously rooted in the past but bang up to date - perfect for an update of such a classic film. Fresher Sounds – The best new music – 13/08/19.It's hard to believe this is Daft Punk's first movie soundtrack, they've been around for years after all, but what a piece of work this is.With 25 years of releases under their belt, everybody’s favourite robots have one of the deepest catalogues in electronic music. Most can identify a handful of their top tunes like 'One More Time', 'Get Lucky' and 'Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger', but it’s the depth and diversity of their catalogue that really makes them icons after all.ġ. Game of Love, Random Access Memories (2013)Īn under the radar gem from their most recent LP, 'Game of Love' is the perfect intersection between the robo-emotive sounds that gave the group mythical status in the decade prior and their departure to a more musically evolved sound. Arguably a follow up to 'Something About Us', one of the top singles from their 2001 masterpiece Discovery, this track shines as a downtempo love ballad told from the perspective of the robots. Sometimes simple is best, and this track shows exactly why. ![]() Found on their 2005 LP Human After All, which was defined by club hits, 'Make Love' steps away from the heavy kick drums and electro-infused beats to showcase the French duo's ability to compose a perfectly catchy tune. ![]() Although it might fit the sound of their later album Random Access Memories a bit more (laid back, melodic and more instrumentally influenced) 'Make Love' acts as the perfect breather between the club-banging tracks that surround it. Humble plucks and chilled out trotting drums make this a track that's worth throwing on repeat.ģ. Sea of Simulation, Tron: Legacy OST (Amazon Release) (2010)įound only as a bonus track on the Amazon exclusive release of the official Tron: Legacy soundtrack, 'Sea of Simulation' doesn't define a narrative as much as it presents an atmosphere for one.
